MY STORY

With degrees in Music and Art my whole life has been focused on discovering the world's beauty in all its creative forms and taking inspirations from the World as an art in itself- its space, light, history, cultures, music, design, dance.

My design journey started-unknowingly- in 2011 when I was offered to play on George Michael's World Symphonica Tour. As exciting as the idea was, I was quickly advised against it, as the potential idea of "sex, drugs and rock & roll" lifestyle stereotype would be no good for my future career (as it turned out later, in most cases it's far from reality). I turned it down. Yet at the back of my mind something was telling me I was discarding a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as well as the possibility of being able to afford my first flat afterwards. It was one of the longest, sleepless nights of my life and in some early hours I decided to take a gamble and try to claim it back. Luckily with success. From that point I have travelled the entire world, playing in famous theatres, packed arenas, state of art concert halls, architectural landmarks and palaces, and had the opportunities to experience the finest architecture and interiors of world's most luxurious 6 and 7 star hotels. And every time, in awe of their surroundings, I asked myself the same questions: " What is so unique about them?", "How do they manage to make me feel so special?" and "How can I transfer those feelings to make others-who haven't had the opportunity to experience it -feel the same?"

All of these ignited my love for design but the curiosity led me to dig deeper, beyond the surface. 

During my travels, throughout my career, I would explore the local architecture, trades and materials. I saw the dilapidated buildings in Italy - full of history and internal beauty but forgotten in the fast-paced life of today. I visited artisans working in small, humble workshops in Malaysia, silk weavers in Vietnam, painters capturing the breathtaking light of Japan or folk artists in the depth of Russia. Each one of them created their story, and through their beliefs and knowledge continue to enrich our lives and redefine luxury. Luxury, in my opinion, is not defined by the materials themselves and their arrangement in space but the 'behind the scenes stories' which give them superior value and quality.

I did buy the flat after the tour which provided an experimental canvas for all my new design ideas- with more or less success. I also enrolled into University for a Degree in Interior Architecture and Design which-after five years- not only gave me the practical tools but most importantly the hunger to learn more. I am still learning and I truly doubt I will ever stop.

I created Interia Studio as a platform to share my experiences with the world of cultures, art and design. Its purpose is also to feature the work of new and established artists in pursuit of reaching their deserving audience, and for You to reach your design ambitions and encounter the true beauty of the world and its materials; to touch your soul just like it touched mine.
